NSP/ CENTRAL SECTOR SCHEME OF SCHOLARSHIPS (CSSS) 2023-24

Objective:

  To provide financial assistance to meritorious students from low-income families to meet a part of their day-to-day expenses while pursuing higher studies. The scholarship provider is the government.

Eligibility

  • Students above the 80th percentile of successful candidates in the relevant stream from the respective Board of Examination in Class XII of 10+2 or equivalent.
  • Pursuing regular courses (not correspondence or distance mode) in Colleges/Institutions recognized by the All India Council of Technical Education, UGC Act, 1956, Medical Council of India, Dental Council of India, and respective regulatory authorities.
  • Not availing the benefit of any other scholarship scheme including State-run scholarship schemes/Fee waiver and -2- reimbursement schemes are eligible under the scheme.
  • Students pursuing Diploma courses are not eligible under the scheme.
Benefits:
  The scholarship fund is Rs.12,000/- per annum at the Graduation level for the first three years of College and University courses and Rs.20000/- per annum at the post-graduate level. Students pursuing professional studies, in case, where the duration of the course is five (5) years/Integrated course would get Rs.20000/- per annum in the 4th and 5th year. However, students pursuing technical studies such as B.Tech., and B.Engg would get scholarships up to graduation level.

   A maximum of 82,000 fresh scholarships per annum are provided for pursuing graduate /
postgraduate degree in colleges and universities and professional courses, such as
Medical, Engineering, etc.

Income limit:
   The parental/family income ceiling is Rs. 4.5 lakh per annum for all categories for this scheme. An income certificate would be required for fresh applicants only.

Application process:
  1. Visit the NSP Portal.
  2. If you are a new applicant, register in the portal and give your basic details.
  3. If you are already registered, then continue the application process.
  4. At the end of the scholarship application, it will show us the list of scholarship schemes available. Then select CENTRAL SECTOR SCHEME OF SCHOLARSHIPS FOR COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY STUDENTS.
  5. Submit the application form and required documents to your college.
  6. COLLEGE VERIFICATION IS MANDATORY.
