Overview:
The scheme aims to award scholarships to meritorious students from economically weaker families to provide them better opportunities for higher education and thus enhance their employability. The scholarship will be awarded to students studying in India in a Government or Private college/university. It shall also cover technical and vocational courses in Industrial Training Institutes/ Industrial Training Centres affiliated with the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) and Integrated courses XII Std. Scholarships shall be of two types; General Scholarship and Special Scholarship for Girl Child.
Eligibility:
- General Scholarship:
- Students who have passed Class X / XII or equivalent in 2022-23 AY with 60% marks/equivalent grade.
- Whose parents/guardians have an annual income (from all sources) not exceeding Rs.2,50,000.( Relaxation of annual income up to Rs. 4 Lakh where a woman (widow/single mother/unmarried) is the sole bread earner of the family.
- Students who are pursuing further education in Graduation, Medicine, Engineering, Diploma, and Vocational Courses can apply for this scholarship.
- Special Scholarship for Girl Child:
- Special scholarship for Girl Child is to encourage girl students who have passed class X with 60% marks or equivalent and want to pursue their further education in Intermediate/10 + 2 pattern/Vocational or Diploma Courses or ITI for two years.
- Whose parents/guardians have an annual income (from all sources) not exceeding Rs.2,50,000.( Relaxation of annual income up to Rs. 4 Lakh where a woman (widow/single mother/unmarried) is the sole bread earner of the family.
Benefits:
- Scholarship amount of Rs.40,000/- for students in the Medicine field.
- Scholarship amount of Rs.30,000/- for students in the Engineering field.
- Scholarship amount of Rs.20,000/- for students in Graduation, Diploma, and other eligible courses
- Scholarship amount of Rs.15,000/- for girl students in the Special Scholarship scheme.
- Scholarship can be renewed every year till the course duration.

- Students need to register themselves here as the initial step of the scholarship process.
- After shortlisting (as updated by LIC GJS), students need to post the documents to the mentioned address and need to attend an interview as the final step. (As observed in LIC GJS 2022)
